On August 31, 2020, at the entrance to the Maritime Court of Odesa, where the case was to be heard, Sternenko was attacked by two men who are related to the organizer of the third attack, Oleksandr Podobedov. At the meeting itself Prosecutors of the Odessa Region Prosecutor's Office Pishchevyat Ihor Ihorovych and Nehanova Olena Yevheniivna filed a petition with the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention for Sternenko, although he did not violate the conditions of house arrest.

In addition to the Sternenko case and the Chorny case, she was a prosecutor in the case against the so-called "Orthodox Cossacks", which prepared terrorist attacks in Odessa in 2016 on the orders of the aggressor state, as well as against pro-Russian terrorists Shikin, Rodin, Biryukov and Ivanov in 2017 (see media reports).
