On April 14, 2016, the Supreme Council of Justice approved the dismissal of Svitlana Volkova, judge of the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv.
On June 14, 2016, the Higher Qualification Commission of Judges removed Volkova from her position.
On September 29, 2016, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed the judge from office for violating the oath. Volkova then appealed this decision to the High Administrative Court.
In 2019, the Supreme Court overturned Volkova's dismissal.
June 22, 2023, The Supreme Council of Justice made a decision to dismiss Svitlana Volkova from the post of judge of the Pechersk District Court of the city of Kyiv on the basis of paragraph 3 of the sixth part of Article 126 of the Constitution of Ukraine (commitment of a significant disciplinary offense, gross or systematic neglect of duties, which is incompatible with the status of a judge or revealed it inconsistency with the position)
She was accused of making an illegal decision to release from custody Dmytro Sadovnyk, the former commander of the "black company" of the Berkut special unit. The prosecutor's office asked for 7 years for the judge. On August 26, 2020, the Shevchenkiv District Court acquitted the judge.
