The key forger of the “Sheremet case,” General Yevhen Koval, until recently the First Deputy Head of the National Police, has been dismissed.
It was Koval who led the investigative and operational group in this high-profile case and organized the infamous press conference with the participation of Zelensky and Avakov on December 12, 2019.
Koval himself claims that he was fired “for political reasons.” Although until recently he was “in good standing” with the state’s top leadership, even receiving the Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree from the president and material assistance from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
