The director of the Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, Oleksandr Ruvin, under whose leadership the so-called “expertise studies” were conducted in the “Sheremet case,” became the subject of a high-profile journalistic investigation by Bihus.Info.
As part of the investigation, he was found to have assets that significantly exceed his official income.
As reported by the publication “Novoe Vremya”, “journalists stated that according to Ruvin’s latest declaration, he and his wife own two old apartments of 147 and 59 sq m, one garage, one non-residential premises of 152 sq m, in which his wife keeps a salon, and two cars — a new 2017 Land Cruiser and an old 2009 Toyota Camry. However, the prices for some property are significantly below market prices.
Journalists reported that Ruvin lives in the elite Regent Hill clubhouse in the capital's Pechersk district. Renting an apartment here costs from 100,000 hryvnias for the simplest two-room apartment and up to half a million hryvnias per month for apartments with gilding, stucco, and marble. Buying real estate here costs at least a million euros: the cheapest one-room apartment is currently being sold for 32 million euros.
Ruvin's wife Halyna drives a Range Rover worth 4 million hryvnias, which is not even listed on the declaration for use.
Nazar Sheptytsky, who is Ruvin's stepson, owns a Range Rover worth about 3.5 million hryvnias, and an apartment in the French Quarter residential complex of more than 100 sq m.”
