The case of Tetyana Chornovol has become a test case on which the authorities are working out the possibility of systematic persecution of Maidan for Maidan activists. In particular, with the aim of both discrediting the Revolution of Dignity and shifting the blame for the spilled blood from Yanukovych to the Maidan residents themselves.
In particular, Tatiana Chornovol is being persecuted as an activist of the Revolution of Dignity for the bloody events on the Maidan on February 18, 2014. Then, when the murders of protestors started by armed "aunties" of the authorities in Mariinsky Park, Chornovol gathered activists and led people to storm the office of the Party of Regions on Lipska Street. The calculation was as follows - to draw the "punishers" to themselves and destroy one of the command centers of the Antimaidan.
On that day, one of the employees of the Party of Regions office, Zakharov, died in the office of the Party of Regions. He died under circumstances not determined by the investigation an hour after the start of the assault. Instead of leaving the premises of the smoky office (activists provided a "green corridor" for the evacuation of not only employees, but also the protection of the office of the Party of Regions), Zakharov, apparently following the orders of the leadership, took information valuable for the Party of Regions out of the premises.
His body was found near the open door to the parking lot behind the Party of Regions office. In the pocket of the jacket, the hard drives of the staff computers were preserved, which Zakharov dismantled instead of leaving the smoky room. And although Zakharov died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning, the wound on his head may indicate that he lost consciousness from the blow and therefore did not leave the room, although the exit was ten steps away.
Also, the lowered pants and unfastened belt may indicate that Zakharov was robbed - something was taken from his belt. Perhaps some papers (recall that the so-called "Black Accounting" or the "Barn Book" of the office of the Party of Regions was in one of the attic offices of the office at the time of the storming).
Also, judging by the time of Zakharov's last telephone conversation (after 12 o'clock), an employee of the Party of Regions office could have died at a time when the activists in the PR office were no longer there, they were pushed away by aunts and "golden eagle". The investigation did not establish or investigate the circumstances of Zakharov's death at all. Even the subscriber of the last telephone conversation was not identified and questioned by the investigation.
The investigation was exclusively concerned with stretching the murder on Chornovol, who was never even at the scene of Zakharov's death in the premises of the Party of Regions office. As a result, the investigation charged Tetyana Chornovol with intentional homicide only on the grounds that she was the only one identified among the activists who took part in the storming of the office of the Party of Regions.
The persecution of Chornovol intensified after Yanukovych's lawyer Babikov was appointed to the leadership of the SBI. Now Tatarov, one of the heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs during Yanukovych's time, oversees her case. Currently, the investigation against Chornovol has been completed. Soon, after getting acquainted with the materials of the investigation, Chornovol will be transferred to the Pechersk court.
