In each of the cases studied by "Pravotvorets", there are enough curiosities, the causes of which are often the actions of the investigation.
For example, in the case "Syvokh vs. War Veterans", the defense of Serhiy Tamarin, one of the soldiers on trial for allegedly attacking former adviser to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Serhiy Syvokh, found an interesting identification report in the case. In it, the witness was supposed to identify Tamarin among 4 people.
But among the people whose photos the investigator showed, next to Tamarin were… Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake!
It should be noted here that the persons whose photos are given to the witness for identification must be of the same sex, age, skin color, appearance, and these photos must not contain any clues. That is, if the photo contains famous people, such as Affleck or Timberlake, then this is already a clue, because due to the presence of recognizable persons, the circle narrows and the person being interviewed must choose not from 4, but from 2 people, which is much simpler. Therefore, in this situation, the purity of the identification procedure is violated.
