Antonenko remains in custody. What happened in court

The Kyiv Court of Appeal rejected the petition of Andriy Antonenko's lawyer Dmytro Kruhovyi to change the detention facility.

The court refused to hear Andriy's guarantors, including current MPs Yana Zinkevich, Mykhailo Bondar, Iryna Friz, MPs of the previous convocation Andriy Teteruk, Oksana Korchynska, former Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Serhiy Kryvonos, and many other well-known individuals.

The guarantors note that Andriy will not be released because there is an instruction “from above” to continue to keep him in custody. Similarly, the people's deputies who were present at the court hearing emphasized that it is precisely for political reasons that the creation of the TSC in the Sheremet case is being blocked, that the faction of the Servant of the People party does not dare to support the TSC because there is pressure from “high government offices.”

Nevertheless, parliamentarians are not giving up hope of unblocking the TSK. The next attempt is on Monday, February 1.

Also on February 2, a jury trial will be held in the Sheremet case (hearing on the merits). It is to consider the preventive measure for Andriy, Yulia, and Yana.
